ピッツバーグ日本協会は、1月15日 実に 3年ぶりにインパーソンの新年会を開催いたします。会場は、今年40周年を迎えられた Kiku Japanese Restaurant 様です。恒例のラッフルや福引をはじめ、楽しい会になるよう企画しておりますので、皆様どうぞご参加くださいませ。

参加には事前申込が必要です（先着順）。定員が埋まり次第、募集を締め切らせていただきますので、何卒ご了承ください。早期に定員オーバーとなる可能性もございますので、参加希望の方はどうぞお早めにお申し込みください。※締切は 1/8(日)中です。皆様のお申込みをお待ちしております！

New Year’s Party for 2023

JAGP will hold its first in-person New Year’s party in three years on January 15, 2023. The venue will be Kiku Japanese Restaurant, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year. We are planning a fun-filled party with the usual raffle and lottery, so please come and join us.

Advance registration is required (first-come-first-served basis). The deadline is Sunday, January 8, but we will close applications as soon as the maximum number of seats are filled. Please note that the number of seats is limited, so please register as soon as possible to avoid the possibility of oversubscription. We look forward to your registration!

• If you would like to donate a prize (new and unopened) for the lottery, please let us know and bring it with you on the day of the event.
• For those members who are unable to attend due to oversubscription , we are considering the possibility of having them participate in the lottery and raffle via Zoom. Details will be provided to the appropriate person.

例年秋に実施していたピクニックですが、十分なコロナ感染対策のもと実施することが難しいと判断し、今年度も開催を見送ることとなりました。

その代わりとして、8～10月に複数回、ピッツバーグのレジャーを楽しむイベントを開催しました。定員を絞って実施とはなりましたが、コロナ感染拡大以降、実に2年半ぶりとなるインパーソンのイベントでした。

●8/27(土) 植物園でフラワーショー鑑賞 ＠Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens

人気のフラワーショーを各自で楽しんだのち、カフェで一緒にランチをとりながら交流しました。

●9/2(金)、9/10(土) パイレーツ試合観戦 ＠PNC Park

小さいお子様から大人まで幅広い年代が参加し、眺めのいい席でのんびり試合を楽しみました。9/2(金)は Free shirt dayでおそろいのTシャツをもらい、9/10(土)は Fireworks Nightで試合後に大迫力の花火も堪能しました。

●10/1(土) 動物園へ遠足 ＠The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium

生憎の悪天候でしたが、動物たちも子供も元気！各自で雨の中の動物をのんびり見て回り、スナックタイムには子供たちが走り回るなか、皆でお喋りを楽しみました。

参加者の皆様にも「普段の生活ではなかなかお会いできない日本人の方々と共に楽しみ、素敵な時間となりました」「長くピッツバーグにいるが、今回初めて来ることができて嬉しいです！」「家族でピッツバーグ観光ができ、良い思い出になりました」「また是非同様のイベントを企画してください！」と、有難い感想をいただきました。

協会では、今後も皆様にお楽しみいただけるイベントを企画中です。来年1月には新年会を予定しております。詳細は後日ご案内しますので、ぜひお楽しみに！

Information on Alternative Fall Picnic Event

We have decided to cancel JAGP Fall Picnic this year, as we have found it difficult to hold the picnic under enough anti-Corona infection control measures. We apologize to all those who were looking forward to the picnic, and we would appreciate your understanding.
Instead, we have decided to hold several events for our members between August and October.

例年秋に実施していたピクニックですが、十分なコロナ感染対策のもと実施することが難しいと判断し、今年度も開催を見送らせていただくこととなりました。楽しみにされていた皆様には申し訳ございませんが、何卒ご了承いただけますと幸いです。

その代わりとして、8～10月に複数回、会員向けのイベントを行うこととなりました。会員にはそれぞれのイベントの入場券を無料でお渡しいたします。（会員でない方は有料で参加いただけます。）

Information on Alternative Fall Picnic Event
Japan Association of Greater Pittsburgh

We have decided to cancel JAGP Fall Picnic this year, as we have found it difficult to hold the picnic under enough anti-Corona infection control measures. We apologize to all those who were looking forward to the picnic, and we would appreciate your understanding.

Instead, we have decided to hold several events for our members between August and October. Members may attend free of charge. (Non-members may attend for a fee.)

For those who are 5 years old or older, you must be within 6 months of receiving the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine or have completed the booster vaccination.

<Capacity/How participants will be determined>
・The maximum number of participants for each session is 20.
・Participants may enter up to four preferences when applying (participants will
　be assigned in descending order of preference).
・If there is room, you may participate in more than one event. However, you may
　only attend one of the Pirates games.
・ If the number of participants exceeds the maximum number, priority will be given
　to those who have participated in the event less frequently and to JAGP members.
・ We will contact you around Monday, August 22 to let you know which event you will
be able to participate in.

JAGP Online Community for Members

Japan Association of Greater Pittsburgh (JAGP) has established an online community for members as a place to exchange information and socialize. You can post and view information like a forum.

[Features of the online community]

• Small community allows for casual exchange of information!

• Only those members who wish to participate are invited, so the number of participants is relatively small.

• Please use it for casual information sharing, inquire about Sensitive problems, etc.

Example: “The restaurant we went to yesterday was delicious! I am looking for a hospital,” etc.

• Please use this for exchanging or transferring things (barter)!

• You can send personal messages to each other!
  • You can exchange messages with people you have met at association events.

022年6月18日(土)、Zoomを利用したオンライン交流会兼ビンゴ大会を開催いたしました。ピッツバーグに長くお住まいの方も、最近来られた方も、様々な方にご参加いただきました。

ピッツバーグの日系団体（日本協会、日本語補習校、日本教室）のご紹介ののち、少人数に分かれて歓談し、交流を深めていただきました。

そして、新年会でも好評だったビンゴを今回も実施しました。日本酒やとらやのようかんをはじめ日本から調達した食品の数々やAmazonギフトカードを景品として、大いに盛り上がりました。

終了後のアンケートでは「少人数でのおしゃべりは垣根が低くてよかった」「長く滞在する方のお話を聞いたり、おすすめの場所を教えてもらえたり楽しかった」「ビンゴは素晴らしい景品がいっぱいでワクワクした」「みんな親切で参加できたこと、出会えたことを嬉しく思う」「今後もこんな交流の場があったら是非参加したい」といったお声を頂戴しました。

また「次は in-person の企画もお願いします」というご意見もいただきました。理事会でもそういったイベントができないか、目下検討中です。
