9月12日（土）、ピッツバーグ日本協会主催のピクニックがSquaw Valley Park (Fox Chapel)で行われました。

あいにくのお天気でしたが、小さいお子様を含め57名の方々に来ていただきました。

ハンバーガーやホットドッグ、そして毎年タレが絶品で大好評の薄焼肉など、みんなでおいしくいただきました。

今年も、最も盛り上がったのは子ども達に大人気のすいか割り。たくさんのお子さん達が楽しめたようで、4つ用意したスイカはあっという間になくなりました。

参加してくださって皆様、お手伝いいただいた皆様、誠にありがとうございました。また食材の調達、公園の予約など準備をしていただいた方々に心より感謝申し上げます。

The annual JAGP Picnic was held on Saturday, September 12, at Squaw Valley Park in O’Hara Township. Even though the weather wasn’t very good, 57 people came. We ate a variety of picnic foods like grilled hotdogs and hamburgers, and we watched kids breaking open watermelons (suika wari).

Thank you for coming, and we appreciate the volunteers who grilled and prepared the food, and the people who reserved the park and helped to organize the picnic.

2015年新年会

1月18日（日）、ピッツバーグ日本協会主催の新年会がOld Town Buffetで行われました。小さいお子様を含め総勢89名の皆様にご参加いただき、楽しい時間になりました。

日本協会会長の挨拶に始まり、日本語補習授業校校長の挨拶、ピッツバーグ桜プロジェクトの紹介、またバイオリンの演奏に合わせて、「一月一日」と「ふるさと」の歌などがあり、和やかな雰囲気の中おいしいお料理をいただきました。盛り上がったのは、なんといっても2015年の運試し、福引ビンゴとラッフルです。福引ビンゴには、多くの協賛企業様から賞品をご提供いただき、およそ50名の方々が賞品を手にすることができました。またラッフルでは、IH炊飯器やポラロイドカメラなど豪華賞品を目玉に皆様に楽しんでいただきました。

参加してくださった皆様、お手伝いいただいたボランティアの皆様、誠にありがとうございました。最後になりましたが、賞品をご提供してくださった企業の皆様に心より感謝申し上げます。

2015年が皆様にとって幸多き一年になりますように。

The JAGP held its annual New Year’s Party for its members last weekend, January 18, at Old Town Buffet. In all, 89  members were in attendance. The program included: speeches and presentations by the JAGP President, Pittsburgh Japanese School principal, and Pittsburgh Sakura Project members; musical performances; bingo; and a raffle. Raffle winners took home numerous prizes like Pittsburgh Pirates tickets and gift cards to local restaurants and stores.

The Japan Association of Greater Pittsburgh will have our 2015 New Year’s Party on January 18. Please mail application and check to the below address before the New Year’s party. Please do not send cash. We may be able to accept you on the day of the party if the room is not full, but you will have to pay $5 more. If you want to cancel your reservation, please contact us by January 11th, and we will refund the fee. After January 12th, refunds are not available.

9月20日(土)、ピッツバーグ日本協会主催のピクニックがSquaw Valley Parkで行われました。小さいお子様を含め60名の方々に来ていただきました。お天気にも恵まれ、ハンバーガーやホットドッグ、また会員の方が作って来てくださったおにぎりを焼きおにぎりにし、みんなでおいしくいただきました。子ども達に大人気のすいか割り。「右、右」「まっすぐ、まっすぐ」という声が飛び交い、たくさんのお子さん達が参加し、とても楽しい時間になりました。

参加してくださって皆様、お手伝いいただいたボランティアの皆様、誠にありがとうございました。また食材の調達、公園の予約など準備をしていただいた方々に心より感謝申し上げます。

We held our Fall 2014 Members’ Picnic on Saturday, September 20, at Squaw Valley Park in Fox Chapel. It was a perfect fall day for grilling, playing, and breaking watermelon (suika wari). Thank you to the members and the new faces who joined us! Thank you, too, to all the volunteers who helped make it a special day! See you again at the New Year’s Party!

◎当日、お肉やとうもろこしを一緒に焼いてくださるボランティアの方を募集しております。

　日本協会会長の挨拶に始まり、日本語補習授業校校長の挨拶、ピッツバーグ桜プロジェクトの紹介、またピアノ、チェロ、バイオリンの演奏などがあり、和やかな雰囲気の中おいしいお料理をいただきました。盛り上がったのは、なんといっても2014年の運試し、福引ビンゴとラッフルです。福引ビンゴには、多くの協賛企業様から賞品をご提供いただき、およそ50名の方々が賞品を手にすることができました。またラッフルでは、i Pad miniやDysonの掃除機など豪華賞品を目玉に皆様に楽しんでいただきました。
