9月29日（土）、ピッツバーグ日本協会主催のピクニックを、オハラ・タウンシップのミドウパークにて開催いたしました。ピッツバーグ市外にも関わらず、72名(会員51名、新会員7名、非会員14名)もの方々にお越しいただきました。
青空の下、グリルで焼いたバーガー、ホットドッグ、焼き肉（茶屋特製ソース）、チキン、サラダ類、スナック類、すいか等の食べ物をみんなでおいしくいただきました。今年も小さいお子様がたくさん参加され、隣接した公園で遊んだり、すいか割りをしたりと大盛況でした。
今年は新たに、ビールを楽しみながら日本人を中心に交流を深める活動を行う「ビール部」によるビールの提供がありました。中でも800種類のビールを飲み比べて行き着いた、部長醸造によるオリジナルビール「HOP!」は、大変好評でした。
参加してくださって皆様、準備や片付けなどのお手伝いをしていただいた皆様、バーベキューグリルでお肉を焼いてくださった三菱電機パワー・プロダクツの皆様、ビールの準備・解説をしてくださったビール部の皆様、誠にありがとうございました。また食材の調達など準備をしていただいた方々にも心より感謝申し上げます。
The annual JAGP Picnic was held on Saturday, September 29, at Meadow Park in O’hara Township. 72 people participated in the event including 7 new members and 14 guests.
We ate a variety of foods such as hamburgers, hot dogs, yakiniku grilled beef with Chaya‘s special sauce, chickens, salad, snacks, etc. As usual, we watched kids breaking open watermelons (suika-wari).
This year, Beer Club members provided two kinds of beers they crafted. The leader of the club visited most of microbreweries in Pittsburgh, tasted 800 unique beers and finally came up with their original one.
Thank you for coming, and we appreciate the volunteers from MEPPI who grilled and prepared the food, and the people who reserved the park and helped to organize the picnic.
